Prof. Bruce Gibb from Tulane University is visiting the Department to give a seminar as our guest. Dr. Gibb, a household name in the supramolecular field and the co-editor of Supramolecular Chemistry, has greatly contributed to our understanding of supramolecular hosts with a well-defined cavity in water media, both through elegant host design (the "Gibb octa-anion"), and through careful thermodynamic studies.
Gabrielle Covey, a student from UA, returned to our labs today for a ten-week REU summer research experience, during which she will continue her studies on the metal binding properties of a series of novel rhodamine dyes capable of fluorescence turn-on signaling.
Prof. Takashi Ito from Kansas State University is visiting the Department to give a seminar as our guest.
Prof. Pavel Anzenbacher, Jr. from Bowling Green State University visited the Department to give a seminar as our guest.
Prof. Luigi Fabbrizzi from the University of Pavia (Italy) is visiting our Department as our guest today. Prof. Fabbrizzi was Dr. Bonizzoni's undergraduate and graduate research advisor, so it is a particular pleasure for us to welcome him to Tuscaloosa. Prof. Eric V. Anslyn from UT Austin will be visiting the department today. Dr. Anslyn was Dr. Bonizzoni's postodoctoral advisor, so it is our particular pleasure to welcome him to the department!
